SPECIAL SURPRISE

PRINT THIS OUT. BRING TO CLASS OCTOBER 5. WILL NEED FOR OCTOBER 12

Work together to plan, prepare and implement a special event for our class.

The challenge for you in Communications class is to :

Elect a leader

Decide on an event

Add an element of community service

Decide on a date. Recommend No Later than the first week in December class time

Have:

            Decorations

            Theme

            Music

            Food

Beverage( No adult beverages on campus)

            An inspirational reading

You can use the area outside of the class for an eating area. Consider this when planning.

The initial planning session will be next week, Wednesday, October 12. I might be late to class. You need to proceed with this assignment whether I am late or not. Class starts at 7pm. You will need to sign in with your arrival time and YOUR DEPARTURE time if I am not back for class. You may not leave earlier than 9pm but class can be in session until 9:30pm as necessary for planning.

You might need to exchange email addresses in order to work together outside of class.

I will need the date you decide on so that I can add that to my planning for class. You are not to tell me what any of the details are except for the date. This event will be a surprise to me

This surprise party will supercede the blog that asks for you to plan a flyer for an event. The successful planning, preparing and implementing this event will be worth 20 points.

Bring this paper to class on October 12 to use for planning.

Have fun. I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

Sincerely,

Peggy Adams

I have two

Here is the other grand baby. Her name is Emma

Great work!

Fall 2011. You are off to a great start. Almost everyone has the blogs up to date. Your comments are thoughtful. 9 of you have taken me up on that extra 5 points for adding a picture. If this semester ends as well as it starts, I think this will be the class of whom I will brag. Never in the five years of being an adjunct has a class brought the professionalism to the table like you people. You DID it.

testing

testing to see if the new setting will allow me to post. I couldn't even post on my own blog.

Comments

I have graded the blogs and you all received full points on your blogs and extra points if you added the picture. I have run into a problem. For some reason I cannot leave a comment. Probably because I have more than one account, however, I have added you on my lifesbestcoach blog, so I'm stumped. In class we will address a setting on your blogs that might allow me the freedom to leave comments. I love and hate technology. When it works, it is marvelous, when it doesn't, well what it is is unprintable. Ir reminds me of an old old nursery rhyme.
There was a little girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good,, she was very very good and when she was bad she was horrid.

(this is my granddaughter, Lynnea. I think she is perfect but her mom would agree with the poem.)

Labor Day Weekend

Hi, Class,
If you are  reading this blog then you have successfully added me to your list. I will be out of pocket this long weekend, so if you send me an email I might not have a ready response. Have a safe and wonderful holiday. May the turning of the seasons bring cooler weather. I wish you well. Sincerely, Peggy

Week Two of class

By now you are becoming more proficient at using the computer than you were two weeks ago. For some of you, using technology is a bit frustrating. You will be surprised and proud of the progress you will make during this semester.

For an extra five points. add a picture to your next blog.
